Amerex Mechanical Engineering Intern

Under the direction of the Manufacturing Technologies Manager this position will be responsible for assisting in process improvements equipment design and project management associated with the various manufacturing processes.

• Assist in the evaluation of manufacturing processes including product design fabrication assembly tooling and materials and develop and implement improvements.
• Studying product requirements inspecting equipment processes operations assembly testing manufacturing methods utilized.
• Develop maintenance procedures for repair services by following manufacturers instructions and established procedures requesting special service.
• Prepare product and process reports by collecting analyzing and summarizing information to justify machine improvements process changes and/or capital investments.
• Create and maintain drawings in bot CAD  and Inventor formats.
• Provide manufacturing engineering information.
• Comply with all applicable government regulations.
• Undertake other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications :

• Pursing a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering Manufacturing Engineering  or Applied Engineering.
• Candidate needs to be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision. 
• Strong mechanical aptitudes a plus.
• Strong verbal and technical writing skills with the ability to communicate to broad audiences.
• Knowledge of quality tools and continuous improvements methodologies a plus. (FMEA Root Cause 5S Six Sigma and Process Flow Analysis)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Outlook Excel and Word Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D modeling software.

This position may involve potential exposure to hazardous materials and environmental changes (heat/cold) and the employee must be able to work under stress occasioned by production requirements personnel and the needs of other departments utilizing proper body mechanic.
