Job Summary

This is a key role in Fastmarkets Legal Risk & Compliance function supporting Fastmarkets strategy to be a world-leading PRA by giving our customers full confidence and trust in our data whist ensuring the business is fully compliant with increasingly stringent benchmark and price regulation. This role sits in the newly established Legal Risk & Compliance function. The LRC function is led by the General Counsel who reports to the CFO. The team is viewed as a genuine business partner and critical to helping the organisation deliver its strategy and this message is set from the top of the company. You will be part of an effective assurance function of Fastmarkets which provides risk compliance and assurance oversight designed to add value and improve operations by delivering an objective evaluation of the control environment and systems of governance. You will pro-actively manage the risk management framework in partnership with the business and Fastmarkets leadership team. You will be leading the design build and implementation of robust risk based monitoring and managing the compliance function in its other day-to-day activities. You will identify gaps in the regulatory knowledge of Fastmarkets staff and oversee the development of an execution plan and implement training programmes to help address these gaps. You will develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of regulation and risk and compliance best practices work diligently to complete duties keeping in mind Fastmarkets strategic objectives; communicating with colleagues across all levels challenging management and delivering tough messages when needed.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

Lead and drive high-impact compliance initiatives focussed on supporting our strategy to become a world leading PRA.

Provide advisory compliance services to the business in relation to all compliance and regulatory matters applicable to a PRA and ensure continued technical understanding of business activities and regulations.

Design implement oversee and review compliance monitoring and testing processes for all our commodities price reporting.

Ensure business compliance with the European Benchmark Regulation (BMR) define agendas of oversight committee and assist the directors of Fastmarkets Benchmark Administrator in applying the regulation running board meetings and reporting and communicating with our regulator in Finland.

Be accountable for all aspects relating to examinations and IOSCO assurance reviews. Partner with business stakeholders on defining and resolving complex problems in areas critical to the achievement of strategic objectives.

Develop and maintain a wider compliance roadmap focusing on both internal and external objectives for Fastmarkets PRA business. Guide the risk and compliance team in a productive professional & positive way and collaborate with the rest of the Legal Risk and Compliance function.

Lead the delivery of self-service tools guidance and resources for the business to encourage widespread understanding and awareness of Fastmarkets compliance requirements and regulatory landscape.

Manage the risk register working with key stakeholders to capture emerging and rising risks to the business map risks ensuring strong mitigation plans and risk ownership are in place and report on.

Manage and maintain Fastmarkets insurance programme.

Challenge the Fastmarkets leadership team where compliance with regulatory standards and requirements is at risk.

Proactively build and manage the relationship with regulators and market authorities and interact with them on developments and initiatives.

Work with the Legal team to interpret and act on developments in relevant laws and regulations to ensure Fastmarkets compliance with its regulatory obligations.

People management of two Risk & Compliance Managers.

Support the embedding of the enterprise risk management framework (ERMF) into the business.

Develop KPIs to monitor and drive improvement in regulatory compliance.

Develop KPIs to monitor and drive improvement in operational resilience.

Develop compliance training and policies.

Perform business process improvement reviews supporting our transformation initiatives.

Perform controls testing reviews.

Undertake compliance investigations.

Deliver M&A transaction risk and compliance due diligence.
