Job Summary

The Environmental Project Manager (PM) is responsible for project management through the delivery of various projects within the Environmental Services Division.  Operating in a diverse and competitive environment this position will manage projects from start to finish ensuring safe effective operations with a client-centered focus. Projects will be completed within required guidelines according to schedule contract specifications timelines and budgets to drive successful outcomes for continued growth and success. Collaboration with others will be vital to keeping open lines of communication and maintaining a high standard of service delivery. The PM will always perform work and ensure adherence to FLINTs core values and exemplary ethical standards.   

**This position can be based in Alberta or British Columbia.**

What would you be doing 

  • Plan and execute small-scale projects ensuring effective communication with stakeholders and maintaining high-quality standards while resolving issues as they arise. 
  • Prepare work plans contractor bidding documents requests for proposals and manage contractor procurement ensuring all documentation is thorough and compliant. 
  • Control forecast and monitor all project-related costs while tracking site progress against planned work ensuring accountability for financial management. 
  • Oversee the management of interfaces between different project groups including subcontractor management and maintain a project risk register to identify and mitigate risks effectively. 
  • Establish and maintain a system for recording tracking and progressing all project documentation using project management software to ensure organized and accessible records. 
  • Liaise with government and regulatory bodies on behalf of clients for regulatory applications and submissions support the analysis of environmental and regulatory risks develop professional contacts participate in training and meetings implement safety programs and complete all administrative duties within required timelines.

Qualifications :

  • Possess a minimum of 4 years of project management experience with at least 5 years in regulatory and environmental consulting.
  • Demonstrated experience in core environmental field and assessment activities including Stage 1 and Stage 2 ESAs drilling programs surveying groundwater and soil vapour sampling and remediation oversight.
  • Skilled in mentoring and training staff on environmental assessment methodologies and best practices.
  • Strong ability to produce clear comprehensive technical reports with actionable conclusions and recommendations for client site next steps.
  • Working knowledge of BC Contaminated Site Assesments is preferred. 
  • Hold a Technical Diploma or University Degree in environmental science engineering or a related discipline and be eligible for or possess a professional designation (e.g. ). 
  • Demonstrate strong business and financial acumen to effectively manage project budgets and resources in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills enabling successful collaboration in both independent and team settings while building strong relationships with key stakeholders. 
  • Communicate effectively with exceptional verbal and written skills capable of influencing decision-makers and adapting to dynamic priorities in a productive work environment. 
  • Show a proactive approach to problem-solving strong initiative and proficiency in the MS Office suite alongside a proven ability to foster teamwork collaboration and conflict resolution with diverse individuals and organizations. 

Additional Information :

This position has been identified as a safety-sensitive position and will require completion of drug and alcohol testing.
