Job Title:Material Handler 2nd Shift Job Status/ Grade:Hourly Location:Troy Ohio Department:Manufacturing Reporting To:Plant Supervisor Direct Reports:None Job Summary: The Material Handler - 2nd Shift is responsible for loading unloading and moving material within or near plant yard or work site. 2nd Shift is 3:00pm - 11:00pm. Essential Job Functions: - Reads work order or follows oral instructions to how certain materials or containers to be moved.
- Know safe operation of lift and clamp trucks.
- Understands all shipping and receiving procedures including computer transactions.
- Know location of raw materials and supplies.
- Maintain plant and off cut area - keep neat and orderly.
- Use safe lifting loading and operating techniques.
- Must maintain neat and up-to-date receiving and shipping files and information
- Handle shipping and receiving duties on assigned shift.
- Keep all machines supplied with material and dump trash.
- Keep off-cuts and raw material tagged and organized.
- Assist in loading and packaging orders.
- Counts weighs and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
- Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on rolls and/or skids.
- Perform cycle counts as requested.
- Responsible for the set-up monitoring recording weights and loading of recycling boxes.
- Responsible for locating raw material in racks and coated material to location.
Qualifications: Required: - High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Oral Communication - Listen and get clarification.
- Written Communication - Present numerical data effectively; able to read and interpret written information.
- Quality - Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.
- Safety and Security - Observe safety and security procedures; report potentially unsafe conditions; use equipment and materials properly.
- Adaptability - Able to deal with frequent change delays or unexpected events.
- Attendance/Punctuality Report to work consistently and on time.
- Dependability - Follow instructions respond to management direction.
- Mathematical Skills - Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
- Knowledge of inventory software and manufacturing software.
Preferred: - Forklift Operator Trained.
