Rate of Pay: 16.13 - 20.43 per hour
Summary:
Housing Options Advisor required to join the Triage Team within Housing Options. The role involves managing a caseload of homeless and threatened-with-homelessness cases carrying out triage assessments and making statutory decisions in line with Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996. The postholder will support the reduction of backlogs and ensure timely assessment of applications.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a Triage Officer managing on-the-day homeless approaches
- Assess and manage a caseload of homelessness applications
- Make statutory decisions including not homeless / not eligible determinations
- Provide housing advice and support to customers threatened with homelessness
- Produce clear and legally compliant decision letters
- Negotiate with landlords and stakeholders to prevent homelessness
Essential Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996
- Proven experience in housing advice and homelessness casework
- Experience using the Jigsaw housing system
- Ability to manage a busy caseload independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to work 4 days per week in the office
- Must be local to Kettering/Wellingborough area

- This role requires a Standard DBS
