Job Summary

Our client is looking for a motivated and independent Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join their clinical team in Huntsville. This is a full-time role designed for a professional who enjoys the autonomy of home health and the reward of seeing patients progress in a real-world setting. You will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to deliver life-changing treatments to a diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct Treatment: Implement physical therapy interventions as outlined in the treatment plan established by the PT.
  • Mobility Training: Assist patients with gait training transfer techniques and therapeutic exercises to improve functional independence.
  • Progress Reporting: Monitor and document patient responses to treatment reporting any significant changes or setbacks to the supervising PT and physician.
  • Home Safety: Educate patients and caregivers on fall prevention strategies and the proper use of assistive devices.
  • Collaboration: Attend interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care with nurses occupational therapists and social workers.

Qualifications

  • Licensure: Active unencumbered PTA license in the state of Texas.
  • Certification: Current BLS certification.
  • Experience: 1 year of experience as a PTA preferred; previous home health experience is a significant plus.
  • Driving Requirements: Must have a valid drivers license reliable vehicle and active auto insurance for traveling to patient homes.
  • Soft Skills: Strong time-management skills and the ability to build rapport with geriatric and post-surgical patients.
