This position is being recruited for in Juneau.
Pay will be determined based on level of selected individual.
Accounting Technician 1 (Range 12) salary: $24.62
Accounting Technician 2 (Range 14) salary: $27.99
What you will be doing:
The incumbent of this position will be responsible for accepting payments to the department in multiple forms including cash check and credit card and ensuring that those payments are deposited and applied appropriately. Other duties include processing refunds structure requests and adjusting journal entries. Additionally the incumbent will have the opportunity to become familiar with CRITTS DECs timekeeping and billing system where they will maintain sales clear deposits and assist divisions with various related tasks. This position also serves as the backup to the Juneau offices Administrative Assistant and backup to DECs payment intake lines.

This position is located in the DEC building near downtown at 410 Willoughby Ave. Juneau AK 99811 and we have our own parking lot! Our newly renovated office located on the third floor with both elevator and stair access is often a fast-paced work environment full of friendly and helpful people.
We are looking for a candidate that has experience in the following areas:
Accounting Technician 1 (Range 12):
One year of clerical work experience maintaining records that included using computer systems and performing basic arithmetic calculations.
Substitutions:
Successful completion of a formal vocational education program in accounting or bookkeeping will substitute for the required experience.
Post secondary education from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month).
Accounting Technician 2 (Range 14):

This position is flexibly staffed. The level of the job offer will be based on the selected candidates credibly possessed and proven competencies. If hired at the lower level you will be promoted to the higher level after completing the training plan and demonstrating competency in the work.
