About Our Job

The Denver Police Department is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Identification and Arrest Process Analyst.

The Identification Unit is an essential 24/7 support unit within the Denver Police Department providing critical services to the criminal justice system and supporting patrol and investigative operations. The unit specializes in identity investigations and quality assurance throughout the arrest process.

Identification and Arrest Process Analysts are responsible for positively identifying individuals processed within the City & County of Denver using fingerprint comparisons arrest records and criminal justice databases. This role ensures the accurate entry review verification and maintenance of arrest warrant and fingerprint records in accordance with established policies and procedures.

The unit operates 24 hours a day seven days a week. Shift assignments are based on employee performance rankings with new employees assigned a shift until evaluated. Flexible availability including weekends and holidays is required.

Location: Police Administration Building 1331 Cherokee St Denver 80204.

This role is performed on-site to support in-person operations and does not offer remote or hybrid work options.

Job responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying subjects by conducting fingerprint classification analysis comparison and record searches

  • Apply inked fingerprint impressions for individuals in custody at the request of law enforcement personnel

  • Respond to court requests for fingerprint analysis comply with court orders and provide testimony when subpoenaed

  • Process enter update and maintain law enforcement records in sensitive criminal justice databases

  • Modify prisoner holds and update records to reflect investigative and case filing decisions

  • Respond to teletype and phone requests to update and validate auto theft records within CCIC/NCIC databases using live terminals

  • Review and verify case transcription entries for offense reports arrests citations missing persons and stolen property cases

  • Respond to correspondence from citizens and law enforcement agencies including background checks and criminal history records requests in compliance with city state and federal guidelines

  • Handle sensitive and potentially graphic documents and information with professionalism and discretion

  • Train staff on job-related functions and perform other duties as assigned

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately review analyze and document information

  • A research-oriented mindset with the ability to locate interpret and verify data efficiently

  • Experience and be comfortable working within a law enforcement or public safety environment

  • Advanced computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications and PDF software

  • The ability to quickly learn and adapt to new databases systems and technology platforms

  • Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality discretion and protection of sensitive information

  • A high level of integrity and respect for personal privacy

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to work respectfully with a diverse population

  • The ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and care

Below are the minimum requirements used to determine eligibility for this position:

  • Education Requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED HiSET or TASC Certificate.

  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of clerical experience of which two (2) years of experience must have been in court law enforcement or legal setting.

  • Education/Experience Equivalency: A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the education and experience requirements with the exception of the two years of experience in court law enforcement or legal setting.

  • License/Certifications: Must be able to pass an initial pre-security clearance screening and maintain CBI (Colorado Bureau of Investigation) certification as a condition of employment.

  • Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
