DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for a Sous Chef to join our restaurant El Patio del Gaucho by Javier Zanetti. The selected candidate will support the Head Chef in the daily management of the kitchen ensuring high standards of quality food safety and service. They will collaborate with the culinary team to deliver outstanding gastronomic experiences aligned with Marriott values contributing to staff development and overall operational efficiency.
The main responsibilities will include:
- Supervise daily kitchen operations ensuring compliance with Marriott and Sheraton standards as well as HACCP regulations.
- Coordinate the preparation cooking and presentation of dishes according to recipes procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure the proper functioning of all kitchen workstations.
- Monitor the quality of ingredients and finished products.
- Support the Head Chef in training motivating and evaluating kitchen staff.
- Foster a collaborative inclusive and continuously improving work environment.
- Lead the team in the absence of the Head Chef.
- Contribute to food cost control inventory management and ordering processes.
- Optimize the use of raw materials reducing waste and inefficiencies.
- Collaborate in the creation of new menus seasonal offerings and restaurant specialties.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene food safety and workplace safety standards.
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness and sanitation in all kitchen areas.
- Guarantee proper maintenance and functionality of kitchen equipment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience in a similar role preferably within hotels or highend restaurants.
- Related Work Experience: 4 to 6 years of relevant culinary experience.
- Supervisory Experience: at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- License or Certification: HACCP.
- Availability to work shifts weekends and holidays.
- Strong knowledge of hygiene and food safety regulations.
- Previous experience in multinational environments or hospitality brands is a plus.
