Mechanical Design Engineer

Marlen is seeking an energetic Mechanical Engineer to join our PumpsProduct Line team.

POSITION SUMMARY:

• Interact with the sales staff and customers to fully understand project requirements
• Prepare formal equipment layout drawings for customer review and approval
• Develop CAD models representative of the customers order
• Create engineering drawings utilizing GD&T
• Transfer BOM data from CAD to the ERP system
• Complete assigned tasks/designs within the required timeframe
• Provide updates on project status and deliverables as necessary
• Follow project scope and delivery expectations to ensure customer satisfaction
• Provide engineering assistance to service technicians and customers as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred
• 4 years relevant experience / industry experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
• Ability to perform the design and engineering functions necessary for all product lines
• Strong mechanical design comprehension and aptitude
• Experience designing stainless steel equipment for sanitary applications including machined components sheet metal and welded assemblies is a plus
• Strong project management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Extensive solid modeling background with preference on Creo & SolidWorks or AutoCAD Inventor software
• Microsoft Office Experience
• Experience with Infor Syteline is a plus
• Ability to use FEA software is a plus
• Comprehensive understanding of control systems necessary to communicate design intent

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee is often required to sit for long periods of time and use their hands and fingers in order to use computer equipment handle paperwork use the telephone and work on product-related components. The employee is occasionally required to stand walk and reach. Vision abilities required by this job include color and close vision. Occasional need to lift up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment includes office and noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be high in production environments. The employee is exposed to mechanical parts and industrial vehicles. Occasional travel in an airplane and automobile required.
