Job Summary
The Scrum Master at Ascendant Insurance Solutions is a key role responsible for facilitating Agile practices within cross-functional teams working on various insurance systems and digital platforms. This individual will serve as a servant leader to ensure that Scrum principles are followed impediments are removed and a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement is fostered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily stand-ups sprint planning sprint reviews and retrospectives
- Ensure adherence to Scrum framework and Agile best practices
- Guide teams in backlog refinement and estimation sessions
- Coach team members Product Owners and stakeholders on Agile principles
- Foster a culture of accountability transparency and continuous improvement
- Remove obstacles that impede team progress
- Partner with Product Owners to ensure backlog clarity and prioritization
- Communicate progress risks and metrics to leadership
- Coordinate dependencies across multiple teams when necessary
- Track sprint progress using Agile tools (Jira Azure DevOps etc.)
- Monitor velocity burn-down charts and performance metrics
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency
- Ensure Agile processes align with insurance industry regulatory requirements
- Support documentation practices where required for compliance
Qualifications:

- 13 years of experience in a Scrum Master or Agile facilitator role
- Experience working in insurance financial services or regulated industries preferred
- Strong knowledge of Scrum framework and Agile methodologies
- Scrum certification (CSM PSM SAFe or equivalent) preferred
- Experience with Agile project management tools (Jira Confluence Azure DevOps)
