Job Summary
Location: Truro NS
Term: Seasonal(start early April 810 weeks)
Reports to: Plant Supervisor
Cavendish Agri Services supports farmers in growing healthy and productive crops. We have 7manufacturing/retail locations serving Atlantic primary products include fertilizers crop protectants and technical expertise.
Are you a reliable safety-focused driver who enjoys working in a fastpaced agricultural environment Were looking for a Seasonal Forklift Operator to support our busy spring season.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Skid-Steer and/or Forklift
- Locate and move stock of products to and from warehouse racking for storage or shipment.
- Load and unload trucks.
- Operate and load fertilizer blender accurately.
- Transport raw materials to production workstations.
- Load and unload products in and out of the chemical room by hand.
- Prepare product for shipment including palletizing picking and wrapping.
- Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations to maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
- All other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Commitment to safety as the #1 priority
- Proficiency and proven experience in using a forklift to move heavy loads
- Able to lift 55 lbs (25kg) continuously
- Availability to work extended hours evenings and weekends
- Mechanical aptitude and previous experience working in manufacturing or farm/fertilizer operations would be considered an asset
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Ability to speak read and write the English language proficiently.
