Job Summary

We are working with a high-achieving secondary school in Hertfordshire to recruit a creative English & Drama Teacher. This is a full-time temporary-to-permanent position starting in March perfect for a specialist who is passionate about the synergy between literature and performance.

The Role The successful candidate will teach a split timetable of English and Drama across Key Stages 3 and 4. This is a unique opportunity to bring literary texts to life through dramatic techniques and to help students develop their analytical and performance skills simultaneously. You will be responsible for preparing GCSE classes for their upcoming summer assessments ensuring a smooth transition into the final term. The school is looking for a dynamic practitioner who can build strong rapport with students and contribute to the vibrant extracurricular life of both departments perhaps even assisting with the end-of-year production.

Requirements

  • QTS and experience teaching both English and Drama to at least KS4.

  • The school is unable to offer visa sponsorship; candidates must have the right to work in the UK.

  • A creative approach to lesson planning and student engagement.

Salary M1 UPS3 () per annum.
