Job Summary
A well-established independent school in Oxford is seeking a creative and dedicated Music Teacher to join its Music department from April 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to teach motivated pupils in a calm academic environment where the arts are genuinely valued and well supported.
Music plays an important role within the schools curriculum with strong student participation and high standards across performance composition and theory.
The Role
Teaching Music across KS3 and KS4 with KS5 depending on experience
Planning and delivering engaging well-structured lessons
Supporting pupils with performance composition and coursework
Encouraging musical creativity and confidence across a range of styles and disciplines
Contributing to ensembles concerts and wider school performances
Working collaboratively within a supportive and well-resourced Music department
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
A degree in Music or a related subject
Experience teaching Music at KS3 and KS4
Strong subject knowledge and confident classroom practice
High expectations for pupil engagement behaviour and progress
A professional organised and positive teaching approach
