Caretaker – Milton Keynes

We are seeking a reliable proactive and hands-on Caretaker to join a well-regarded primary school in Milton Keynes starting ASAP. This is a key role responsible for maintaining a safe clean and welcoming environment for pupils staff and visitors.

As a Caretaker you will play a vital role in ensuring the school site is secure well-maintained and operating efficiently allowing teaching and learning to run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the school premises including classrooms corridors and outdoor areas

• Carry out general repairs maintenance and minor handyman tasks

• Ensure the school site is secure including locking and unlocking buildings and monitoring access

• Set up and take down furniture or equipment for events assemblies or activities

• Monitor the condition of the building and report any maintenance issues

• Oversee waste disposal cleaning supplies and basic stock management

• Support health and safety compliance including fire alarm testing and emergency procedures

• Assist with deliveries and moving of school resources

• Maintain a clean safe and welcoming school environment

• Work collaboratively with school staff and contractors as required

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

• Have previous experience in a caretaker facilities or maintenance role

• Be practical hands-on and proactive

• Have good organisational skills and attention to detail

• Be able to work independently and manage time effectively

• Possess basic DIY and maintenance skills

• Be committed to safeguarding and maintaining a safe school environment

• Be reliable flexible and responsive to the needs of the school
