The Senior Manager Labor Relations Mexico reporting directly to the Vice President of Human Resources leads the companys overall laborrelations and compliance strategy across nine facilities overseeing union relations regulatory adherence and laborrisk management to ensure consistent application of corporate policies and support business stability.
Ø Labor Strategy & Compliance
Lead national laborrelations strategy and compliance including developing and executing laborrelations plans across all Mexican sites ensuring consistent corporate policy application and overseeing full compliance with Mexican labor law STPS regulations USMCA labor provisions and international standards.
Serve as the companys strategic labor advisor acting as project lead for all laborcompliance initiatives coordinating crossfunctional efforts monitoring regulatory changes ensuring audit readiness and timely remediation and advising senior leadership on labor climate workforce dynamics and laborrelated risks.
Ø Union Relations
Lead all unionrelations and labormanagement interactions serving as the primary liaison with unions overseeing collective bargaining contract renewals unionenvironment strategies and resolving disputes and grievances in alignment with company policies.
Build strong longterm union partnerships while strengthening internal capability including developing positive relationships with union leadership and coaching plant leaders and HR teams on effective compliant unioninteraction practices.
Ø Employee Relations
Foster a positive and productive workplace environment by promoting respect and collaboration supporting HR in disciplinary and conflictresolution processes and implementing initiatives that reduce absenteeism and turnover.
Ø Risk Management
Proactively manage laborrelated risk and government relations by identifying and mitigating operational labor risks maintaining strong partnerships with labor authorities and leading crisismanagement efforts for disputes strikes or regulatory investigations.
Ø Reporting & Metrics
Measure and strengthen overall laborcompliance performance by tracking gapclosure timeliness monitoring audit results and recurrence rates maintaining USMCAspecific compliance KPIs and delivering executive dashboards that highlight risks trends and longterm improvement opportunities across all Mexican operations.
Bachelors degree in Human Resources Law Business Administration or related field (Masters preferred).
10 years of experience in multi-site labor relations within automotive or manufacturing sectors.
Proven experience managing union negotiations and CBAs in Mexico.
Strong knowledge of Mexican labor law and international labor standards.
Excellent negotiation communication and conflict resolution skills.
Familiarity with NOM-035 and other workplace compliance standards.
Ability to work in a fast-paced matrixed environment.
Advanced English skills
Willing to travel within Mexico up to 50%
