Job Summary

Were hiring an engineer to help us build AI into the core of our HR platform not as a feature add-on but as a fundamental part of how the product works.

What youd actually do

Youd build AI-driven workflows that change how users interact with Factorial. This means designing systems where AI handles routine decisions while humans stay in control of judgment calls creating evaluation frameworks so we know when our LLM features actually work and building the underlying infrastructure that lets other teams ship AI features safely.

Youll own problems from start to finish: figuring out what to build designing it shipping it then improving it based on what we learn.

Were using skill-based agents and protocols like MCP. Youd work closely with product design and engineering teams and have real influence on how we hire and develop engineering talent going forward.

This is a hands-on role. Youll ship code not just give advice.

Who this is for

You care more about outcomes than stack debates. You think in terms of end-to-end user flows and system behavior not rigid frontend/backend boundaries.

You already use AI as a coding partner not occasionally but as part of your daily work. You know how to leverage it to multiply your impact while keeping your judgment and craft central.

Your goal is building great products that have real impact not writing the most lines of code.

Why consider this

Most companies are still figuring out how to bolt AI onto existing products. Were rebuilding from the assumption that AI is already here. If you want to work directly with leadership on defining what that looks like in practice in a real product used by thousands of companies lets talk.

How we work

Our engineering team is in the office 80% of the time. Weve found that building this kind of product works better when people can work together in person as it gives us faster alignment better collaboration fewer misunderstandings and we invest a lot into people-first culture.

The other 20% is flexible. Work from home when you need extra focus time have personal things to handle or just a change of scenery.

Compensation and perks

/year based on what you can actually do rather than years of experience. We also cover:

  • Private health insurance (Alan)
  • Gym/fitness membership (Wellhub)
  • Expense management tool (Factorial Benefits)
  • Language classes (Preply)
  • Salary advances when needed (Payflow)
  • Breakfast and fruit at the office
  • Pet-friendly office

We have people from 43 countries on the team. Apply however works for you standard resume blind resume with pronouns with a cover letter whatever.

Even though we used LLMs heavily to write this position all em dashes were placed by hand by a real person.
