About the role:
The Department is looking to recruit a lecturer with a health background to teach across our L2 and L3 Health and Social Care programmes including the new T-level in Health Science planned for 2026.
The main responsibility of this role will be to provide high quality teaching learning and assessment in addition to undertaking associated tutorial duties.
The successful candidate may also be a course leader for one or more programmes.
Agile working
The role is primarily face to face but we do offer agile working on a case by case basis depending on personal circumstances and business need.
What we are looking for in our role:
The ideal applicant will have experience in teaching and assessing Health and Social Care programmes or Health Science subjects with relevant occupational competency and experience working in the Health sector.
Inspirational Teaching:
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for Health and Social Care
- Ability to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Creativity in lesson planning and delivery
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
Effective Personal Tutor:
- Empathy and understanding of student needs
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
- Knowledge of safeguarding and student welfare policies
- Ability to provide academic and personal guidance fostering student well-being
Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualifications or industry experience with a full teaching qualification (Cert Ed PGCE DTLS) is required for the role. Applicants with a L3 teaching qualification who are willing to undertake a full L5 Diploma in Education and Training will be considered.
