The Boiler Room Operator will be responsible for the safe efficient and continuous operation of boiler systems and related utilities to support pharmaceutical production processes. The role ensures compliance with safety environmental and regulatory requirements while maintaining uninterrupted steam supply to the plant
Tasks
- Operate monitor and control boiler systems to ensure adequate steam generation for production.
- Start up shut down and adjust boiler operations in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor boiler pressure temperature water levels and fuel consumption.
- Ensure boiler water treatment is properly maintained to prevent scaling and corrosion.
- Ensure strict adherence to boiler safety standards company safety policies and statutory regulations.
- Conduct routine safety checks and immediately report any unsafe conditions or abnormalities.
- Maintain accurate operational logs shift reports and maintenance records.
- Support regulatory inspections and internal audits related to boiler operations.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance on boilers pumps valves and auxiliary equipment.
- Identify faults leaks or abnormal operations and escalate to the maintenance team promptly.
- Assist maintenance technicians during scheduled servicing and repairs.
- Ensure cleanliness and proper housekeeping within the boiler room.
- Monitor and support related utilities such as compressed air water systems and fuel supply.
- Coordinate with production engineering and quality teams to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Support emergency response actions related to boiler or utility failures.
Requirements
- Technical Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Plant Operations Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Valid Boiler Operator Certificate (where applicable).
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards.
- Minimum of 25 years experience operating industrial boilers preferably in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.
- Experience with fire-tube or water-tube boilers is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of boiler systems steam generation and water treatment.
- High level of safety awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to read gauges meters and technical manuals.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work shifts weekends or overtime when required.
