D365 Commerce Retail Functional Consultant

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Dynamics 365 Commerce / Retail Functional Consultant to design and deliver Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce solutions for retail and omnichannel clients in the DACH region. In this role you will work closely with German-speaking business stakeholders and technical teams to translate retail requirements into robust scalable D365 Commerce implementations.

This position requires fluent German as you will be involved in client workshops documentation and end-user training conducted primarily in German. .

Tasks

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate German-language functional workshops to gather and document retail and commerce requirements.
• Design and configure Dynamics 365 Commerce solutions including Store Commerce (POS) Call Center eCommerce and Retail HQ.
• Translate business requirements into functional design documents user stories and test scenarios (in German where required).
• Configure retail processes such as pricing promotions discounts assortments product lifecycle and inventory management.
• Support integrations with Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management payment providers tax engines and third-party retail solutions.
• Work closely with technical consultants and developers to ensure functional alignment and best-practice solutions.
• Support data migration system testing UAT and go-live activities.
• Deliver German-language end-user training and create functional documentation.
• Provide post-go-live support and continuous improvement recommendations.
• Stay current with D365 Commerce updates Microsoft best practices and retail industry trends.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• 4 years of experience as a Functional Consultant Business Analyst or similar role in retail or commerce solutions.
• Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce / Retail.
• Strong understanding of retail and omnichannel processes (POS inventory pricing promotions fulfillment).
• Experience with full lifecycle D365 implementations.
• Fluent German (C1/C2 level or native) essential for this role.
• Professional working proficiency in English.
• Strong stakeholder management analytical and documentation skills.
• Valid work authorization for Austria or Germany.
