Bartram Trail Veterinary Hospital is expanding and we are looking for a passionate detail-oriented individual to join our team as aPart-Time Veterinary Assistant. Position:Part-Time Veterinary Assistant.
Location:Bartram Trail Veterinary Hospital.
Responsibilities:
As a Veterinary Assistant your duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Building positive relationships with clients and team members.
- Assisting veterinarians with physical exams procedures and patient care.
- Dispensing medications as prescribed by veterinarians.
- Assisting veterinary technicians with radiographs patient positioning and anesthesia monitoring.
- Preparing patients for surgery and assisting with surgical procedures.
- Sterilizing surgical instruments and assisting with lab diagnostics.
- Monitoring and providing comfort care to patients.
- Supporting the kennel team with animal care (e.g. baths nail trims anal gland expressions).
- Performing other duties as required to support the team and ensure excellent patient care.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred.
- Certification or enrollment in an accredited veterinary assisting program is a plus.
- CVA (Certified Veterinary Assistant) is preferred but hands-on experience is prioritized.
- Strong communication skills in English both verbal and written.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Compassion for animals and their owners is essential.
Part-time Work Schedule:
- 3 Weekdays: Arrival by 7:45 AM; estimated departure at 5:15 PM (1-hour break included).
- Rotating Saturdays: 7:45 AM 1:15 PM
Work Environment:
You will primarily work in the hospitals exam treatment and surgical areas assisting with both routine and emergency care.
