Job Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute is looking for a Neurologist for an ambitious project with an important social impact especially for patients to work in the Genomics and transcriptomics of synucleinopathies (GTS) group which focuses on the molecular characterization of Lewy body diseases.

Over the past 10 years they have specialized in dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) with the goal to provide novel diagnostic markers. The selected candidate will be involved in all aspects of the project focusing on evaluating subjects with DLB discovering novel biomarkers for Lewy body disorders starting with patient selection applying well-defined dprotocols for diagnosis. This entirely translational research project aims to offer solutions for patients clinicians and the development of therapeutic strategies.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Be updated of the most relevant articles published on the topic.
  • Coordinate the circuit of patient recruitment and sample obtaining.
  • Conduct neurological and if needed neuropsychological evaluations of patients to be included in the current project.
  • Organize and perform sample obtaining and processing.
  • Update databases in REDCap.
  • Follow the research protocols for biomarker validation.
  • Conduct data analysis and interpretation and prepare data for presentation.
  • Discuss results with the other researchers of the project.
  • Attend external meetings and report results.
  • Write the articles derived from this research.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCIE
  • Bachelor of Medicine with specialty in Neurology.
  • Proficient in developing research protocols in health sciences.
  • Proficient in database entry with REDCap environment.
  • Will to perform the doctorate as a result of scientific publications related to neurodegenerative-related biomarkers.
  • Strong knowledge of database management and data analyses (Excel and SPSS).
  • Experience in sample handling and processing preferably related to serum and plasma.
  • Strong level of English both read and written.
To be positively valuated:
  • Possess strong analytical problem-solving skills (creative critical thinking out-of-the-box).
  • To be able to work independently and take initiative take an active part of the team be accurate and have a strong feeling of responsibility and be perseverant and have a strong ambition to learn. Good oral and written communications skills.
WHAT WE OFFER
  • Temporary contract.
  • Part-time (20 hours/week).
  • Starting date:March 1st 2026.
  • Gross annual remuneration inherent to the square objected to this call will be fixed based on the experience provided and the skills of the candidate distributed in 12 payments.
