How youll contribute

ATelemetry Technicianwho excels in this role:

• Under the supervision of an RN performs telemetry monitoring.
  Reports to: Director of Intensive Care Unit
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies including reordering stocking cleaning and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
• Performs administrative or clerical duties an assigned including filing reception scheduling data entry and patient registration.

What were looking for

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent Required; Associates degree Preferred
• Licenses: EMT EMT-P CNA SRNA or CMA Preferred or completion of first semester clinical rotation in an accredited Nursing Degree Program (ADN or BSN).
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Required;
• Completion of Cardiac Telemetry Certification within 1 year of hire; Evidence of successful completion of Telemetry/Dysrhythmia course Certifications: Certified
• Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA). Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Essential Functions

• Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
• Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
• Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Tests equipment for proper working order. Reports equipment problems to supervisor.
