Technical Project Manager Data Management (Agile Delivery Focus)
Contract: 612 months
Location: Dallas TX (Hybrid local candidates only)
We are seeking a hands-on Technical Project Manager to lead execution of Data Management initiatives in a delivery-focused role not a program-level position. The ideal candidate has recent experience managing Agile teams owns day-to-day project execution and is comfortable working closely with data teams architects and engineers. Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience as a Project Manager (not program manager) with direct ownership of delivery
- 3 years of recent Agile/Scrum experience in a hands-on role (Scrum Master responsibilities required)
- Proven experience managing day-to-day execution including:
- Task tracking
- Sprint execution
- Resource coordination
- Issue resolution
- Strong experience with Agile tools especially:
- Jira (required)
- Confluence (required)
- Experience with project estimation planning and scheduling (must be clearly demonstrated)
- Ability to break down high-level requirements into detailed work plans
Technical Requirements
- Experience working with data-focused projects (Data Management Data Warehousing ETL etc.)
- Strong understanding of SQL (must be able to work with data teams and understand queries)
- Familiarity with databases such as Oracle or similar platforms
***What Were NOT Looking For***
- Program Managers overseeing portfolios without hands-on execution
- PMs with primarily Waterfall experience
- Candidates without recent Agile delivery experience
- PMs who have not recently managed tasks teams and sprint execution directly
What Youll Do
- Own end-to-end delivery of data-focused projects including planning estimation execution and reporting
- Act as Scrum Master and Project Manager leading:
- Daily stand-ups
- Sprint planning
- Backlog grooming
- Sprint reviews and retrospectives
- Manage detailed project plans including task breakdowns dependencies and resource assignments
- Drive accurate estimation and capacity planning with technical teams
- Track and manage work in Jira and Confluence (hands-on daily usage required)
- Identify and proactively resolve delivery risks blockers and dependencies
- Work closely with data engineers architects and business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet requirements
- Provide clear concise reporting to leadership including executive-level updates
