Role Overview:
The PMHNP position works alongside other dedicated professionals in a dynamic and exciting multidisciplinary team setting. Our team-based model of care centers on holistic person and family-centered care that addresses all aspects of recovery. We incorporate evidence-based practices into our services including DBT EMDR and WRAP among others to assist our clients on their journeys through recovery.

Essential Job Functions
Clinical Duties:
  • Provide psychopharmacological and diagnostic assessment of VCCC- clients communicates findings to other appropriate VCCC clinicians.
  • Provide psychopharmacological medication management to VCCC- clients.
  • Achieve 60% productivity (24 hours) billable services per full FTE.
  • Communicates with personnel outside of VCCC as necessary to provide quality assessment
  • and/or continuity of care to VCCC clients.
  • Participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings.
  • Coordinates care with and provides clinical consultation to non-medical VCCC clinicians as clinically indicated.
  • Quality Improvement Duties:
  • Collaborates with other VCCC staff in maintaining high clinical standards and services within the HP.
  • Advises the Chief Medical Officer in establishment and maintenance of quality mental health care standards within the clinic.
  • Works in collaboration with VCCC administrative staff and committees in implementing VCCC mission guiding principles vision and goals.
  • Program Development Duties:
  • Assists in the development of procedures and programs as assigned by Chief Medical Officer.
  • Clinical Record keeping duties:
  • Maintains required clinical and medical records in accordance with Federal State local governing agencies and community standards.
  • Agency policy and procedure duties:
  • Works under policy guidelines and procedural standards established for the agency and receives clinical and administrative supervision from a VCCC Psychiatrist or Supervising PMHNP.

Agency Privileging Duties:
  • Completes required applications materials in accordance with VCCC policy for privileging.
  • Maintains clinical privileges at VCCC and abides by VCCC clinical staff bylaws.
  • Community Related Duties:
  • Participates in the planning and implementation of training activities for the community as assigned by Chief Medical Officer and/or Outpatient Medical Services Director.
  • Continuing Education Responsibilities:
  • Maintains knowledge of major clinical trends and research developments in field of psychiatry.

Other Responsibilities:
  • Practice and incorporate Quality Improvement principles in daily work activities.
  • Maintain required levels of productivity and performance standards.
  • Meet all required work deadlines.
  • Ensure that supervising manager receives proper and timely information that is relevant to VCCC business
  • Learn and follow all related JCAHO Federal State local and Agency requirements and established VCCC Policies and Procedures.
  • Attend required in-service trainings and meetings.
  • Other related duties as assigned by Chief Medical Officer or Outpatient Medical Services Director.
  • Attend related meetings outside of VCCC and travel to/from work related events as assigned by Chief Medical Officer or Outpatient Medical Services Director.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Training:
  • Washington State ARNP license required prior to start date
  • Current DEA certification
  • Board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
  • Thorough knowledge of general psychiatry.
  • Ability to represent the program both formally and informally to various publics in the community.

Desirable Qualifications:
Experience:
  • Three years post-internship clinical experience.
  • Experience in community mental health care.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents.
