Sign-on Bonus $10000

Shift: Full-Time 40 hrs. M-F Days evenings (rotating late-call)

Work Location: University of Miami Hospital & Clinics - UHealth Sole Mia (North Miami FL) Interventional Radiology

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Verifies the patients ID by checking their name and date of birth.
  • Corroborates patients clinical history and ensures information is documented and available for use.
  • Assist with patient interviews before a procedure and documents all relevant information.
  • Ensures that the attending radiologist obtains the proper informed consent.
  • Prepares the patient for procedures to obtain desired results gain cooperation and minimize anxiety.
  • Notifies appropriate person of any change(s) in patients status.
  • Maintains proper sterile techniques for procedures and strictly practices aseptic technique.
  • Assists the radiologist throughout procedures with all the necessary supplies.
  • Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient self and others.
  • Positions the patient for the examination and obtains good technical quality scout film of the area before starting procedures.
  • Assumes care for physical and psychological needs of the patient during the procedure.
  • Initiates life support measures for patients and assists in cardiopulmonary resuscitation during medical emergencies.
  • Maintains working knowledge of all patient monitoring devices.
  • Provides patient education in collaboration with other department staff.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Associate degree in relevant field; bachelors degree preferred

Certification and Licensing:

State of Florida General Radiographer License

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certified in Radiology

CPR/BLT certification

Experience:

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience

Knowledge Skills and Attitudes:

  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work evenings nights and weekends as necessary.
  • Commitment to the Universitys core values.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
