Job Summary

Position Summary:Join the University of Dayton Research Institutes (UDRI) cutting-edge Autonomy Systems division and help shape the future of autonomous technologies! Were seeking a talented Associate Software Engineer who will be responsible for working as part of a skilled technical team to write and test software in high level languages and to develop and test signal processing algorithms from concept to implementation. Minimum Qualifications:

1. Completed Bachelors Degree
2. Familiarity with modern Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and software compilers such as Netbeans Visual Studio Eclipse or similar
3. Successful experience (academic or professional) developing software using C C or Java
4. Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen and cannot hold dual citizenship
5. Eligibility to obtain a United States SECRET clearance (or higher) is required for ongoing employment in this position

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

1. Bachelors Degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or Computer Science
2. Demonstrated successful experience (academic or professional) programming in algorithm level languages such as Matlab/Simulink Python or similar
3. Demonstrated successful experience (academic or professional) with parallel programming using languages such as OpenCL and/or CUDA
4. Demonstrated successful experience (academic or professional) developing software to communicate and exchange information (e.g. commands status data) with hardware devices sensors and/or systems
5. Demonstrated successful experience (academic or professional) installing configuring and working in Windows and Linux environments
6. Demonstrated successful experience (academic or professional) developing software applications specifically designed for use in multi platform (e.g. Windows and Linux) environments
7. Demonstrated successful experience (academic or professional) with source code version control systems such as Git Subversion or similar
8. Demonstrated successful experience (academic or professional) with software development practices such as Agile Scrum or similar
9. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills
10 . Active US SECRET (or higher) clearance
