Job Summary
The Expert Cloud Architect serves as a key technical leader responsible for shaping guiding and advancing the organizations cloud strategy in support of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). This role oversees the planning design and implementation of secure scalable and mission-aligned cloud architectures. The Expert Cloud Architect ensures that thorough analyses of cloud service alternatives are conducted and prioritized enabling the Government to effectively architect business and mission solutions using cloud-based systems and services.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive Cloud Transformation: Lead and support cultural and organizational change initiatives that promote successful cloud adoption across NGA and related mission environments.
Architect Cloud Solutions: Oversee the design development and coordination of integrated cloud architectures that meet NGAs operational security and mission requirements.
Strategic Cloud Planning: Develop and refine enterprise cloud strategies to guide the adoption migration and optimization of cloud-based solutions within NGAs technical ecosystem.
Leadership & Oversight: Provide technical direction mentorship and quality assurance for teams of Senior- Mid- and Junior-level Cloud Architects ensuring alignment with NGA standards enterprise policies and best practices.
Qualifications :
Required:
- Masters degree in Computer Science Information Technology Management Information Systems or related STEM degree program.
- 18 years of experience in cloud-based systems architecting is required and may be considered in lieu of degree.
- One or more Cloud Certifications such as:
- Cloud Certified Solutions Architect
- AWS Certified
- Cisco Certified Networking Administrator Cloud
- Cisco Certified Network Professional Cloud
- IBM Certified Cloud Solution Architect
- MCSE Cloud Platform and Infrastructure
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP7-CMA)
- Experience with NGA
Desired:
- Previous working experience in government or industry within Cloud Architect profession.
- Experience architecting solutions using structured and unstructured Big Data.
- Experience architecting solutions using Automation Augmentation and Artificial Intelligence technologies.
- Experience architecting solutions using Model Based Systems Engineering.
