About Verdigris
Verdigris is on a mission to sustain and enrich human life through responsive energy intelligence. We help AI data centers and other mission-critical facilities operate more reliably and efficiently by turning power data into actionable insights and risk signals. With real-time monitoring and analytics Verdigris enables operators to spot issues earlier reduce unexpected outages and safely unlock more usable capacity.
Extraordinary outcomes need exceptional teams. We value collaboration ownership and continuous growth as we build the future of resilient sustainable infrastructure.
About the Edge Team
The Edge Team builds and owns the hardware and firmware that power Verdigris sensors in the field. We partner closely with vendors hardware and cloud engineers and customer support to deliver reliable maintainable devices through production and deployment. We focus on continuous improvement modern embedded practices and AI-assisted workflows to ship high-quality systems faster and keep the fleet healthy over time.
At Verdigris you will work with IoT-connected sensors and energy data to help customers improve efficiency and reduce waste. As an embedded engineer you will expand the capabilities of our measurement devices and strengthen the platform that turns on-site signals into actionable insight. Join us in building technology that supports a more sustainable built environment.
The Edge Team values engineers who think in systems design for failure and take pride in building platforms that quietly work at scale.
About the Role
Were looking for a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to serve as the technical owner and architect of Verdigris edge platform responsible for long-term system integrity fleet reliability and the evolution of our hardware and firmware products from development through large-scale deployment. You have a strong growth mindset welcome challenges and feedback and actively pursue opportunities to learn and improve. You bring a strategic architectural perspective along with strong hands-on skills to turn ambitious ideas into robust shippable firmware and systems. You are comfortable making architectural decisions with long-term consequences balancing near-term delivery with multi-year platform health and taking accountability for outcomes in the field.
In this role you will:
Own the end-to-end embedded platform architecture from kernel and driver design through system services update mechanisms and cloud-facing interfaces with accountability for long-term stability backward compatibility and fleet-scale reliability.
Use AI tools responsibly to accelerate architecture exploration implementation testing diagnostics and root-cause analysis while defining validation verification and safety standards for AI-assisted development across the team.
Set and enforce industry best practices for embedded Linux driver development build systems and system architecture favoring best-in-class stable and upstream-aligned approaches that support tens of thousands of deployed systems with minimal field issues
Design and implement robust embedded Linux solutions from board bring-up and BSP strategy through reproducible build pipelines system services and performance tuning on production hardware with clearly defined interfaces between hardware firmware and cloud systems.
Drive fleet reliability at scale by designing monitoring diagnostics logging and remote recovery systems; own failure analysis across thousands of devices and lead verified fixes spanning hardware Linux networking and application layers.
Partner closely with hardware on product development and manufacturing build test fixtures and tools that ensure product quality.
