Progressive Die & Automated Machine Design Engineer CAD (2D/3D)
Location: Acton MA Full-Time On-Site 40 hrs/week
Overview:
Join a leading manufacturer of high-end automated machinery as a CAD Engineer specializing in progressive die and automation design. We create reliable precision machines for production environments and pride ourselves on craftsmanship innovation and quality. This role combines hands-on design with collaboration on the manufacturing floor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design progressive dies and custom automated machinery in 2D and 3D CAD (Inventor preferred SolidWorks a plus).
- Prepare production drawings layouts bills of materials and CAM files.
- Collaborate with tool and die makers and manufacturing teams to ensure functional manufacturable designs.
- Interpret customer specifications and technical drawings to develop high-quality reliable machinery.
- Review and revise existing designs for continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 410 years in automation and progressive die design with at least 2 years focused on progressive dies.
- Proficient in 2D AutoCAD and 3D CAD (Inventor preferred).
- Solid understanding of mechanical components manufacturing operations dimensioning tolerancing and steel selection.
- Strong problem-solving attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment collaborating directly with production teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a technical discipline.
- Experience with machine tool-type equipment and SolidWorks.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
