Job Summary:

The LogisticsSpecialist (LS)supports24/7operationsandperforms operationallogistical support and administrative tasksto support ground and air transportation.

The LogisticsSpecialist worksin conjunctionwith field staffandsite leadershipCommandCentercorporatelogisticsdepartment and stakeholderstocoordinatethe safe transport of minorsand/or familiesandstaff.He/she managesdaily operations for inventory supplies distributionfacilitiesand transportationfor the site assigned.The Logistics Specialist conductsvehiclesafetyincluding regular preventative and correctivevehiclemaintenance and ensuresdriversare authorized tooperatevehicles.

Essential Functions:

  • Followscompany and contractpolicies procedures and guidance.

  • Prepares reviews and coordinates the documentationpersonal propertyand special accommodationsfor transportation of all minors and ensures all paperwork is providedfor proper transport for reunification or transfer to shelter.

  • Assistswith transfer of custody and property for small and/or large groups.

  • Keepsin constantcommunication withtransportteamsassumingcustody ofminorsand/or family unitsto includechecking status of vehiclesinroute.

  • Informs Command CenterandSite leadershipof any transport cancellations.

  • Inventories orders and delivers meals supplieselectronicsand/or clothing; prepares backpackswithessentials includingtabletand mobilephonefor trips.

  • Drives passengers to and from client sites and/or airports.

  • Installs/removes child car and booster seats based on age and height/weight as.

  • Observes andassistswith UC and/or family unit orientation answersquestions and describesthe transport process.

  • Assistsin charterflights/busespreparationsto includereviewing documentation inspecting bathrooms for cleanliness to ensure high standard of quality and driving to flightline.

  • Cleans vehicles sanitizes interiors and ensures they are fueled and ready for ground trips.

  • Checksvehicles for contraband and ensure coolers and emergency kits are in vehicles.

  • Updates information in the companys database systems(e.g. Canvas Verizon Connect Pantry fleet system etc.)and prepares transportationequipment inventory and meal reports as well as Ad Hoc reports as.

  • Assistsintracking andmonitoringlogisticsspecific training (e.g.DOT inventory fleet facilitiesetc.) andassistswithlogisticsprojects as needed.

  • Assistsmanagement staff with cost benefit estimates as directed by supervisor.

  • Monitors and reportsDOT compliancecamera surveillanceandGPS tracking driver IDs (e.g.key fobs)andHours of Serviceinformationforcompliance purposes and elevates concerns to supervisor and Site Manager.

  • Follows company quality control and inspection plans and executesthecompanys Fleet Managementprogram includingPreventive Maintenance(PM) mileagetrackingregistration tolls inspections logsetc.as.

  • Tracks inventory and supplies; monitors availability of stock;coordinates with Logistics Supervisor and Site Manager on shortages.

  • Executesthe facility management programand reports anysite repairsandbuilding wear and tearto Logistics Supervisor and Site Manager

  • Participates inlogisticssynchronization meetings asrequested.

  • Performs otherduties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills Abilities and Qualifications:

  • Possess an associate degree inan appropriate disciplinefrom an accredited college (a high school diploma with two or more years of relevant experience may be substituted for an associate degree) and

  • Have at least two years of documented experience in a field related to security law socialworkdetentioncorrectionsorsimilaroccupationalarea;certificationlicensure and credentials applicable to the professional accreditation of the position (a minimum of four years of experience is required when a high school diploma with two or more years of relevant experience is substituted for an associate degree).

  • Two or more years experience in businesslogistics transportation supplychainora relatedfield.

  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance (e.g.PM inspections safety checks etc.)as well as warehouse and inventory procedures (e.g.FIFO concept).

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employeesand withclients.

  • Bilingualin English and Spanish.

  • Ability to take technicaldirectionand feedback from various sources.

  • Committed to providing outstanding customer service and representation of MVM in a professional manner.

  • Requires the ability to prioritize work meet stringent deadlines balance multipletasksand work in a team environment.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to pass a Government Security Background Investigation including a favorable credit check no criminal record and no prior drug use.

  • Worka flexible schedule including nightsweekendsand graveyard shifts.

  • Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel). Inventory and surveillance software experience preferred.

  • Possess a valid and current drivers license withsafedrivingrecord.

  • Experience using tablets and smart phonetechnology.

  • Ability to deliver the highest quality of work under extreme pressure.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

Clearance:

  • The applicantsselectedwill besubject to a government background investigation and maybe requiredto meet the following conditions of employment.

Security Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain/maintainSecurityClearance.

  • Favorable credit check for all cleared positions.

  • Successfully pass a background investigation drug screen.

  • May beto pass or present specific requirements depending on the program (e.g.DOT exam vaccinations CPR flu shot).

  • Valid US passport bookor proof of beingin the process of obtainingone depending on the program.

  • US Citizenship Permanent Residency.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

Consider the position at hand (i.e. lifting pushing and pulling will not be very necessary). Percentages should bemodifiedto reflect the necessity for each position.

Standing/Walking/Mobility: Musthavethe mobilityto attend meetings with other managers and employees.

Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling:0% - 10% of the time

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing:0% - 10% of the time must be able tolift upto 40 lbs.

Fine Motor Skills/Dexterity:Must be able to writetypeand use a telephone system 100% of the time.

Sitting:Sittingfor prolonged and extended periods of time
