Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Structural Fitter to fabricate assemble and fit structural steel components according to blueprints and specifications. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of structural layouts welding symbols and safety standards and can work efficiently in an industrial or construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints drawings and specifications

Lay out fit and assemble structural steel components (beams columns plates braces etc.)

Measure cut grind and tack-weld materials to precise tolerances

Align and secure parts using clamps bolts and welding equipment

Verify dimensions and quality of fitted components before final welding

Operate hand tools power tools and measuring instruments safely

Follow all safety procedures company policies and OSHA regulations

Work closely with welders supervisors and other trades to meet production schedules

Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping of work area

Qualifications & Experience

High school diploma or GED preferred

2 years of experience as a Structural Fitter or similar role

Strong ability to read and interpret structural drawings and welding symbols

Knowledge of steel fabrication processes and materials

Experience with measuring tools (tape measure squares levels calipers)

Basic welding and tack welding experience preferred

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

Stand bend kneel and work in confined or elevated areas

Ability to work in hot cold and noisy industrial environments

Work Environment

Shop or field-based work

May require overtime nights or weekends depending on project needs

PPE required at all times
