We currently have an opening for a Classification & Compensation Analyst
This position may be eligible for hybrid remote work in accordance with state policy and the agencys remote work program but does require weekly onsite work.
The position is designated Statutory Exempt and is exempt from the State Human Resources Act.

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an analyst in the areas of Classification Compensation and Labor Market Analysis. The position also serves as the NCDIT IHRPS Security Liaison and Apprenticeship Coordinator. Position will work with DIT managers and supervisors in developing and applying compensation strategies for complex classification studies and actions ensuring proper implementation over a wide variety of information technology and non-IT professional occupations. The position will perform classification and compensation projects of the appropriate level and provide the appropriate level of support to larger more complex studies and projects alongside Senior Analysts. Work directly impacts the ability of the agency to recruit and retain professional talent in a region that is highly competitive on the national level.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct moderately complex classification and compensation studies for IT and non-IT roles
Perform labor market analysis and maintain competitive salary structures
Provide consultation on organizational design position structuring and strategic workforce planning
Administer Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) compliance and salary equity reviews
Develop and maintain HR data analytics dashboards and performance metrics
Support HRIS data integrity and position history documentation
Deliver training and guidance to managers and HR staff on classification and compensation policies
Serve as a HRIS Security Liaison
About the Division:
The NCDIT Human Resources Division provides comprehensive human resources program support to the agency workforce statewide. The Division ensures compliance with Federal and State law and guides agency leadership management supervisors and employees in the areas of: HR policy administration and interpretation classification and compensation employee relations / disciplinary procedures grievance administration recruitment and selection pay administration HRIS administration performance management workforce development / talent management benefits administration HR records management internship / apprenticeship programs HR data analytics and workforce safety and health programs.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
The following Management Preferences are not required but applicants that possess these skills are preferred:
- Experience with HRIS such as Workday Integrated HR/Payroll System SmartSheet and/or ServiceNow.
- Related HR Certification such as Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) HR Certification Institute (HRCI) WorldatWork Public Sector HR Association (PSHRA).

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelors degree typically in Human Resources or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and 2 years of experience required
OR
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; or equivalent combination or education and experience.
