The Outreach and Recruitment Specialist IYIP supports the outreach engagement and recruitment of youth across Canada for the International Youth Internship Program an initiative focused on increasing access to international work experience for individuals facing employment barriers. Working in collaboration with the Director IYIP and General Manager of International Programs the role contributes to the coordination of recruitment communications and engagement activities as well as key administrative and logistical processes throughout the internship lifecycle. Through effective coordination and program support the role helps expand access to international internship opportunities in partner countries such as Colombia Togo Peru and Sierra Leone.
In this role you will:
- Assist in implementing innovative recruitment and engagement strategies to identify youth from across the country for participation in IYIP.
- Assist in designing and delivering in-person and virtual information sessions orientations and debrief activities including preparation of webinars and training materials.
- Contribute to the development of marketing and communication strategies and materials for IYIP including public engagement activities.
- Promote applications screen applicants interview and select eligible youth to participate in the program in consultation with local partner YMCAs.
- Coordinate logistics of Canadian interns for enrollment pre-departure orientation training evaluation and employment support.
- Assist in preparing and organizing all documentation before interns departure including visa applications insurance security information and vaccinations.
- Guide interns in developing Public Engagement activities in Canada.
- Gather all relevant information and provide initial assessments of interns requests.
- Assist with administrative tasks for check-in sessions with interns and partners including scheduling of program activities with global partners.
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of information documentation and backups into the system.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Focus on the health safety and wellbeing of all children youth and vulnerable people in YMCA programs including understanding legal and moral obligations related to reporting suspected child abuse to Child Protection Services.

You bring:
- Post-secondary education in youth recruitment and outreach youth engagement and facilitation international and community development and communications campaigns or equivalent experience.
- 12 years of experience supporting youth programs recruitment and outreach facilitating and delivering youth sessions and contributing to international or community development initiatives and communications campaigns.
- Experience designing and coordinating creative accessible inclusive interactive and engaging youth events programs and/or trainings both online and in person.
- Experience successfully coordinating logistics for events programs and/or international placements.
- Strong administrative skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the preparation of high-quality communications presentations and other materials for a variety of stakeholder audiences.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish and/or French is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a strong capacity for collaboration and engaging a diverse community of stakeholders.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Commitment to diversity equity inclusion and building a sense of belonging.
