Lake Orion Assembly is seeking a creative highly motivated agile thinker with a passion for automation. The ideal candidate has a background in or exposure with electrical or computer engineering with strong programming skills and can perform at a high level in a fast paced high volume manufacturing facility. This person shall be comfortable supporting manufacturing processes on the production floor. As a Controls Engineer you will be addressing production issues alongside quality manufacturing and maintenance teams. Additionally you will be expected to maintain and improve existing production processes by using continuous improvement and problem-solving techniques.
During the initial part of the program there will be requirement to frequent (50% time) travel to the OEM Equipment Manufacturer location
Configure program test and troubleshoot PLC based control systems and associated components
Electrical troubleshooting and testing of controls systems control panels and associated equipment
Diagnose and correct deficiencies in manufacturing processes and equipment
Develop innovative solutions
Support and actively interact with manufacturing maintenance and quality groups
Continuously improve quality cost responsiveness & safety
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors Degree with a major in electrical or mechatronics engineering or equivalent automation controls engineering experience
5 years in the following
Preferred Qualifications:
5 years of Controls experience in a Manufacturing environment withing paint shop
Vision Cameras
Fanuc or Siemens CNC experience
Fanuc Robot Programming experience
