Job Summary
The Litigation Associate will join a civil litigation and insurance defense practice handling sophisticated matters from inception through resolution. This role is well-suited for an attorney with 1 to 5 years of experience who is motivated detail-oriented and eager to deepen trial and advocacy skills. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement and exposure to complex litigation in a supportive team-driven environment.
- Manage a civil litigation caseload from initial pleadings through resolution
- Draft pleadings motions discovery requests and responses in compliance with deadlines
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda to support case strategy
- Prepare for and attend depositions hearings mediations and trials
- Assist with and participate in dispositive motion practice
- Communicate regularly with clients providing written status reports and case updates
- Collaborate with partners senior attorneys experts and support staff on litigation strategy
- 1-5 years of litigation experience preferably in insurance defense or a related practice area
- Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admission to the Connecticut State Bar or eligibility through an adequate UBE score
- Strong legal research writing and advocacy skills
- Experience drafting and arguing dispositive motions and managing discovery
- Excellent attention to detail organization and communication skills
