Location: Portland/Augusta (this position will require extensive travel throughout southern and central Maine with on-site visits.

Core Responsibilities:

As a Quality Assurance Caseworker for the Office of Aging and Disability Services you will:

Conduct comprehensive reviews of client case files to ensure compliance with state federal and agency regulations policies and best practice.

Extensive documentation audited for accuracy completeness timeliness.

Analyze trends and patterns to identify issues or areas for improvement.

Track performance indicators and outcomes to ensure program safety and compliance.

Prepare corrective action plans and follow up to ensure compliance.

Provide coaching guidance and technical assistance to agencies on policy interpretation and documentation standards.

Serve as a resource for best practices and process clarification.

Provide detailed reports and findings regarding issues and areas in need of improvement.

Collaborate with supervisors program managers and multidisciplinary teams to address quality concerns.

Participate in staff meetings and policy review discussions.

Safeguard client confidentiality and sensitive information while ensuring services support client safety well-being and rights.

Conduct onsite reviews of agencies to evaluate compliance with federal regulations and licensing standards. Assess case records service delivery practices and operational procedures to ensure quality safety and effectiveness of services.

Facilitate meetings with provider agencies to review quality assurance benchmarks.

Communicate with provider agencies on a quarterly basis reviewing data related to reportable event compliance.

Community outreach and education when applicable.

Your workload will include:

Advocating for and coordinating provision of services including reviewing analyzing and documenting person-centered plans.

Maintaining accurate case records of assessments activities and plans; writing summaries reports letters and memos.

Collaborating with Adult Protective Services and Crisis Prevention/Intervention Services when necessary to stabilize and secure emergency needs.

Analyzing data and preparing reports for quality outcomes.

Utilizing the QA Sharepoint database keeping it updated with required documentation.

Presenting data reports to assigned agencies on a quarterly basis.

Minimum Qualifications:

In order to qualify you must have a Bachelors Degree from an accredited educational institution in Social Work/Social Welfare; OR a Bachelors Degree in a related social service/social welfare/social work area which includes at least 12 courses in behavioral science social science or social work; AND must have or be eligible for conditional or full licensure as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) as determined by the Maine State Board of Social Worker Licensure.

The background of well-qualified candidates will include experience in adult case management writing PCPs and applying for waiver services and familiarity with MaineCare and Long Term MaineCare. Please describe this experience in your cover letter.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have or be eligible for conditional or full licensure at the Licensed Social Worker (LSW) level as issued by the Maine State Board of Social Worker Licensure. An LSW requires an earned BA/BS in social work/social welfare. An LSW-Conditional requires an earned BA/BS in a field related to social work/social welfare.

Possession of a valid Class C Maine Motor Vehicle Operators License.

*Chapter 10 of the Maine State Board of Social Worker Licensure regulations defines a field related to social work or social welfare as including but not limited to: behavioral science social and behavioral sciences childhood development education human development mental health and human services psychology educational psychology rehabilitation services and sociology.
