DescriptionJob Summary
The Chromate 5/Inspector is responsible for the execution of the Chromate 5 line and the inspection of product from the Chromate 4 5 and Hand lines.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Review work orders and product specifications
- Load and Unload Chromate 5
- Visually inspect the product for signs of chromate being miss-applied - ex color bubbles streaks etc.
- Work with the Quality department on suspected errors
- Operate Forklift
- Works with Zinc and Chromate operators in the event if questions or defective products
- Assist with staging finished products for packaging or shipment.
- Keeps area clean
- Participates in 5S activities
- Notifies supervisor of any maintenance suggestions
- Able to re-run small orders. Works with Quality on larger orders with problems.
- Shut down the line if mechanical or solution problems.
The employer may require an employee to perform other duties as assigned on a temporary and infrequent basis.
QualificationsRequired Skills/Abilities
- Good verbal and written communication skills. Speak read and write English preferred
- Great organizational and attention to detail skills.
- Ability to manage and work on a computer
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to create and maintain cooperative team-building relationships.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Actively listen to instructions understand them and ask questions
- Monitors operations to ensure processing is working properly.
- Use of logic and reasoning to identify improvement opportunities and alternative
- Ability to add subtract multiply and divide to calculate the correct weight for each load.
Education and Experiences
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience using computers.
- Experience working in a manufacturing company.
- Experience working a Chromate Line
- Certified by the Quality Department
- Forklift license
