Location: Hybrid (4 days in person 1 day remote per week)

Salary Range: $175000 - $225000 per year based on experience and qualifications.

About the Role

The Controller will be responsible for day-to-day accounting operations financial reporting internal controls and process improvementwhile partnering closely with the CEO Head of People and our PE sponsor to support disciplined growth.

What Youll Do

Leadership

• Fully own the finance department overseeing the accounting FP&A functions and cash management
• Act as a thought partner to leadership on financial discipline visibility and decision-making to shape the long term strategy
• Engender financial rigor and discipline throughout the organization
• Manage outsourced bookkeeping resources
• Build scalable processes for a growing footprint (new openings transitions integrations)
• Server as primary point of contact for Private Equity sponsor

Accounting

• Own the weekly and monthly close process ensuring timely accurate financial statements
• Maintain and enforce accounting policies controls and documentation
• Lead school-level budgeting process
• Manage Department of Education finance relationship
• Coordinate with external partners (audit tax payroll providers)

Operations

• Partner with school leaders and central teams to ensure clean consistent financial inputs across locations
• Help heads of schools identify opp
• Support location-level P&Ls cost tracking and variance analysis

FP&A / Reporting

• Prepare weekly monthly reporting packages for the CEO and private equity partner
• Lead budgeting forecasting and 13 week cash-flow planning in partnership with CEO
• Lead ad hoc analysis as needed

What were looking for:

• 10 years of accounting experience with multi-site operations
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA is highly preferred but not required
• Controller or Assistant Controller background
• Strong GAAP knowledge
• Revenue recognition experience in a tuition or membership-based business (deferred revenue accruals recognition over time)
• Audit experience
• Expertise in Excel / Google Sheets
• QuickBooks experience is a plus
