POSITION SUMMARY:
The Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing information processing referrals scheduling of services and/or coordinating delivery of equipment. Serves as a liaison between the patient case management insurance company and other health care providers. The Customer Service Representative must maintain strict confidentiality in all matters pertaining to patients of Enloe Medical Center.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
One year experience in customer service
Six months experience in a health care or related setting performing tasks such as patient registration insurance verification medical billing patient DME education or handling of DME equipment .
Desired:
Medical terminology
Pervious home medical equipment experience to include knowledge of supply items EPIC order review and understanding of basic insurance coverage for DME items.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Must have excellent telephone communication skills and interpersonal skills to maintain a high degree of rapport with patients co-workers physicians and the public. Must be able to follow instructions work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Capable of using Microsoft Word Excel Outlook (Microsoft Office Suite) for a variety of support functions. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential. Must show sensitivity for the patient and family and maintain strict confidentiality. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
PATIENTS SERVED:
This position is responsible for age-related emotional and cognitive needs of the following age groups of patients: pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric.
