Located in Chandler Ariz. suburb of Phoenix the Chandler Regional Medical Center is a 429-bed not-for-profit hospital with more than 2600 team members and almost 1000 doctors on staff representing all major specialties. Chandler Regional joined the Dignity Health system in 1999 but has been part of the community for more than 50 years. The hospital includes a Level I Trauma Center a Heart and Vascular Center a Wound Healing Center a Family Birth Center and many additional services. Dignity Health Chandler Regional Mercy Gilbert and Arizona General Hospital Mesa awarded $422000 in grants to support five community projects led by 15 local organizations. Since 1991 Dignity Healths Community Health Improvement Grants program has provided $91 million to nearly 3800 health projects focusing on vulnerable and underserved populations.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

The primary role of the Chief Medical Officer position is to provide skilled management and strategic leadership functions for the Hospital that results in effective planning monitoring of the quality of patient care resource utilization across all departments and service line development. This position provides physician oversight over such activities as Quality Management patient safety patient experience Medical Staff Office fostering a positive relationship with medical staff the designated institutionalofficer for GME programs and any other duties as assigned. This individual shall assume a facilitative role to assist the President of the medical Staff its officers and department chairs in carrying out their responsibilities. Sets policies and procedures and ensures all services meet the objectives of the organization.

  • Works closely with hospital staff department directors and physicians to ensure that the highest standards of quality and service are maintained.
  • Oversees the implementation of quality improvement efforts designed to improve clinical performance and maintain compliance with TJC HIPAA and other accreditation standards. Participates in development and implementation of quality initiatives including patient access and satisfaction provider satisfaction clinical outcomes and process improvement and guideline development.
  • Works within the service area network to identify and evaluate outstanding physicians and physician groups for participation in the provider network.
  • Participates in strategic plan and business plan development including identification of strategic partners growth and resource allocation.

Job Requirements

  • Doctor Of Medicine and Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in specialty
  • Minimum of five years (5) of management experience in health care.
