Job Summary
Financial Accountant
Location: Remote (Must reside in North Carolina)
Position Summary
Banyan Search is working with a best in class company that is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our remote team. This position is responsible for general accounting functions including investment accounting financial reporting month-end close activities and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounting processes including investment accounting reconciliation and reporting
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and regulatory reports
- Complete month-end close activities including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Monitor and reconcile investment portfolios and related general ledger accounts
- Prepare financial reports for management and board presentations
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field required
- 2 years of accounting experience required
- Public accounting experience preferred
- MBA CPA or CMA certification preferred
- Must reside in North Carolina
Required Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables VLOOKUP financial modeling)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
