Position: K-5 After School Literacy Tutor Part TimeApplication Deadline: Open Until FilledStart Date: Immediate OpeningSalary: Depends on ExperiencePosition Description:The K-5 After School Literacy Tutor plans and delivers targeted literacy instruction to small groups of students using provided research based programs and resources. Essential Position Functions:Plan for and deliver targeted Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions for students in need of additional support as determined by the MTSS teamImplement district-provided research based curriculum and instructional strategies with fidelitySupport students in areas such as phonemic awareness phonics fluency comprehension vocabulary and writing (as applicable)Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the MTSS team or supervising staffMaintain a positive structured and supportive learning environmentBuild strong encouraging relationships with students to promote motivation and engagementCollaborate with teachers MTSS team and after-school program staff as neededFollow all school policies related to student safety confidentiality and behavior expectationsParticipate in professional development and curriculum trainings as deemed appropriate by supervisorMeet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines honoring schedules coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner and demonstrating respect for Sherman County School District:The Sherman County School District is a K-12 progressive modernized school with approximately 275 students.
