Overview
We are seeking an Aviation Engineer - Hybrid to join our team in Tampa FL.
Your role
Designs and develops plans and drawings which may include the development ofpreliminary layout and/or final drawings.
Organizes and conducts engineering investigations and planning work which have a well-defined scope. Outlines and prepares relatively straightforward reports of sections ofmore complex reports working under the periodic review of a more experiencedprofessional.
Provides engineering services during construction activities by reviewing shop drawingsfor conformance with specifications; prepares records and progress reports definingconstruction progress; observes construction procedures under the guidance of a more experienced professional and evaluates the results from quality control testing.
Researches feasibility of alternative design approaches site conditions and regulatoryagency specifications.
Contributes to the development of specifications and permit applications and writesmiscellaneous reports.
Prepares preliminary man-hour cost and material quantity estimates.
Participates in quality control checks maintaining quality standards in all work producedchecking computations and/or reviewing designs and drawings performed by others.
Coordinates with other disciplines as required.
Performs field observations of construction where appropriate.
Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
Performs work which involves conventional types of plans investigations surveysstructures or equipment to carry out diversified engineering projects or phases of a singleproject with relatively few complex features and requiring the use of analysisinterpretation and deductive reasoning.
Exercises independent judgment on regular assignments.
Receives instructions on specificassignment objectives complex features and possible solutions.
Work is reviewed forapplication of sound professional judgment and assistance is furnished on unusualproblems.
May coordinate with and/or guide the work of junior professionals technicians and otherswho assist in specific assignments.
Interfaces with senior technical professionals and technical managers.
Limited external contacts may include state regulatory agency and utility personnelsubconsultants and clients to discuss requirements.
Under supervision applies technical professional proficiency to the investigation ofengineering problems the coordination of project activities and the preparation ofpreliminary plans and documents.
On design assignments progresses toward learning howto clearly convey the design intent through engineering drawings and specifications.
Onengineering and planning assignments continues to develop a knowledge of thefundamentals of engineering processes and to apply them successfully to operatingsystems.
On construction assignments continues to develop an understanding ofconstruction methods and the translation of engineering plans and specifications intoconstructed product. Upholds engineering ethics and standards of conduct.
Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of alimited number of variables.
About you
B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering with two years experience post B.S Degree or one year experience post M.S. Civil Engineering degree.
Four (4) years experience post B.S. degree preferred.
E.I. or EIT is required or must obtain within six (6) months of starting.
Requires Aviation experience.
CAD skills required.
Technical writing computer and communications skills required.

Ability to process paper/electronic documents and utilize computer equipment; ability tocommunicate clearly both orally and in writing; ability to visit project sites if necessary.

Additional information
Expected compensation range is between $57000 - $96000 annually depending on skills experience and geographical location.
