Litigation Solicitor (Civil Litigation)
Salary: 45000 to 65000 DOE
Location: Basildon area

Our client is looking to add a capable Litigation Solicitor to a busy well-regarded team in the Basildon area. If you enjoy running your own matters end-to-end building trusted client relationships and want a role where your work is valued (not just your hours) this is a brilliant opportunity to step into a supportive environment with clear scope to progress.
The Role
You will handle a varied civil litigation caseload delivering a high standard of client care and helping to develop the departments offering.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a caseload of civil litigation matters from instruction through to resolution
- Advising clients clearly on strategy risk costs and next steps
- Drafting pleadings witness statements and settlement documentation
- Negotiating settlements and representing clients where appropriate
- Supporting business development and helping grow the litigation service line
- Maintaining excellent file management and ensuring full regulatory compliance (SRA standards)
Caseload / Technical Focus
The role will suit someone comfortable with general civil litigation with property litigation / property disputes experience being advantageous.
Experience in any of the below is helpful:
- Landlord and tenant disputes
- Boundary disputes / rights of way
- Contractual disputes
- Debt recovery
- Contentious probate (desirable not essential)
Requirements (Essential)
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
- 2 years PQE(guideline flexibility for the right person)
- UK practice experiencehandling civil litigation matters
- Proven ability to run files independentlywith appropriate supervision
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills
- Excellent organisation communication and client care
- Comfortable using case management systems and Microsoft Office(or similar legal tech)
