Redmayne Bentleys Financial Crime team act as our second line of defence in all business-as-usual activities related to financial crime risks. Our Financial Crime Officers oversee our first line of defence and provide guidance on high risk and complex queries.

Our firm works in a frequently evolving regulatory environment and we are looking for someone who has a strong existing knowledge of this area and a passion for ensuring our processes and frameworks are effective.

You will also support our MLRO and the wider Compliance team with the following tasks:

  • Investigating and making decisions on referrals made by first line of defence and supporting product governance in line with delegated authorities.
  • Review assessment reporting and managing of Suspicious Activity Reporting and other law enforcement or regulatory reporting.
  • Supporting other activities including Monitoring horizon scanning financial crime systems oversight and country risk assessment.
  • Providing advice on complex queries and financial crime policy to wider areas of the business.
  • Acting as a point of escalation for the business for financial crime matters
  • Supporting the process of financial crime monitoring across all relevant business areas.
  • Contributing to the provision of training development and delivery of financial crime communications and initiatives.

What were looking for

Qualifications and Experience

  • Holds at least 1 of CISI Level 3 Investment Operations Certificate qualification or ICA Advanced Certificate/ Diploma in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and committed to obtaining the other within a maximum of two years.
  • Previous work experience within the field of financial crime (such as AML/KYC)

Skills and Competencies

  • Knowledge of key Financial Crime regulation and guidance (such as JMLSG Money Laundering Regulations FCA Financial Crime guidance) and sources of information to support investigations.
  • Awareness of regulatory frameworks associated with financial crime sanctions and AML.
  • Knowledge of financial crime detection systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and consistency in documentation.
  • Able to adapt to changing regulatory environments and processes.
  • Confident ability to conduct research in support of provision of advice or decisions.
  • Capable of making decisions within delegated authority & recognising when escalation is appropriate.
  • High levels of professional integrity discretion and commitment to maintaining standards
