Job Summary
MOR PPM Inc. seeks plant mechanics in Thompson Ohio. The Plant Mechanics will install and/or maintain machinery and equipment according to layout plans blueprints drawings and written instructions in industrial establishments. Current Tappisafe Basic candidates preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:--
- Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures; dismantles machines; moves machinery and equipment.
- Assembling and installing machines then testing them to make sure they are working correctly
- Must workin full compliance with the approved safety regulations
- Managing the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtime
- Identifying and repairing problematic parts of a machine by running tests making temporary repairs or installing new parts
- Dismantling older machines and replacing them with new ones
- Overseeing preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues removing worn out pieces and lubricating mechanical parts
- Using machinery or equipment such as forklifts to move mechanical parts
- Assembles and installs equipment such as shafting conveyors pumps compressors extruders turbines and blowers; aligns machines and equipment using reverse alignment method; assembles machines and bolts welds rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures; may operate engine lathe to grind file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications; may repair and lubricate machines and equipment; may be involved in the grouting activity for equipment base plates.
- Performs any other duties assigned by supervisor
- Performs all work in a safe and efficient manner and keeps work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Qualifications:
Preferred: 4 years work experience as an industrial plant mechanic or has successfully completed a curriculum closely related to plant mechanic work from a vocational institution with 2 years experience.
Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:
- Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically through DocuSign
- May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Must posses enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above
- Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas
- Must have full range of motion consistent with age
- Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders
- Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees alarms and other job-related noises
- Visual acuity depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces
- Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
