Job Summary
Vertex is growing and were looking for a Shop Handto join ourBonnyville Albertateam. Were seeking a local candidate from the Bonnyville area.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Moving material in an organized fashion
- Handling materials within the shop and outdoors
- Preparing or assisting with parts to be welded
- Assist in moving bins and dumping bins
- Assisting welders and mechanics with miscellaneous duties as requested
- Operating of basic hand tools and powered hand tools
- Pressure washing trucks trailers and equipment
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment at all times
Candidate Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 drivers license with a clean commercial abstract
- Mechanical knowledge background
- Excellent organizational skills
- Self-motivated with an attention to detail
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Able to stand climb bend and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods of time
- Ability to take direction with assisting other employees in various tasks as requested
- Ability to communicate well and perform physically demanding work
- Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity
- Ability to perform duties in a safe and efficient manner
Assets to Have
- Experience working in a shop environment
- Experience working around industrial equipment including: Semi-Vac Super Bs Combo Vacs Straight Vacs and Pressure Trucks
- Growth mindset towards pursuing Apprentice/Journeyman Mechanic certification
- Forklift certification
