MRI Technologist (Cardiac Focus)
Location: New York NY
Assignment Duration: 8 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift 58 Hours 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
Pay Rate: $56$66/hour
Position Overview
A leading healthcare facility in New York City is seeking an experienced and compassionate MRI Technologist with a strong background in cardiac imaging. This short-term assignment offers the opportunity to work with advanced MRI technology in a specialty-focused clinical environment supporting both inpatient and outpatient populations.
The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging while ensuring patient safety comfort and adherence to clinical protocols.
Responsibilities
Perform high-quality MRI scans including cardiac MRI (with and without contrast) and musculoskeletal imaging
Ensure patient safety comfort and clear communication throughout procedures
Prepare and administer contrast media and initiate peripheral IV access
Collaborate closely with radiologists and clinical teams to support accurate diagnoses
Maintain compliance with imaging protocols safety standards and documentation requirements
Assist with inpatient imaging as needed; overtime may be required
Required Qualifications
Licensure: Active New York State Radiologic Technologist License
Certifications: ARRT (MR) BLS IV Certification (must be valid at start)
Experience: Minimum 2 years of MRI Technologist experience including cardiac MRI and musculoskeletal studies
Technical Skills
Proficiency in cardiac MRI (with/without contrast)
Strong experience in musculoskeletal MRI (e.g. Foot Hand Hip Knee Shoulder TMJ Spine)
Skilled in contrast preparation and administration
Experience initiating peripheral IVs
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with advanced MRI techniques such as CINE Diffusion Gradient Echo MRA/MRV MRCP MIP MPR and T1/T2-weighted imaging
Familiarity with PACS and Siemens MRI systems
Background in Adult ICU Pediatric Acute Care or ER/Trauma settings
Experience with EPIC electronic medical records
Prior experience in teaching or community hospital environments
