Job Summary
JOB DUTIES
- Perform geotechnical analysis and studies to assess potential mitigation options for geohazards including seismic analysis karst evaluation etc.
- Plan and conduct geotechnical explorations. Perform appropriate calculations for the design of foundations retaining walls horizontal directional drills and slope stability.
- Assist in developing proposals and determine cost and schedule for investigations.
- Provide direction to technical team in field inspection activities.
- Interact with customers and team members to complete the assigned project on-time.
- Assist Program Manager in design and evaluation of construction documents and projects.
- Develop design drawings and specifications for construction projects.
- Review and approve geotechnical designs developed by outside consultants.
- Review construction design proposals and approve geotechnical aspects.
- Evaluate team performance and determine training needs to meet performance objectives.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- BS in Civil Engineering/Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
- Geotechnical Engineer Level 1 - 1 years of experience
- Knowledge and understanding of industry codes and standards.
- FE required PE highly preferred.
SKILLS
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities is important.
- Time management and organizational skills and the ability to deal effectively with stressful situations.
- Experience on engineering procurement and construction projects desirable.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills. Accuracy and attention to detail important.
- Proficiency with applicable software applications.
- Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources including internal resources and clients.
COMPENSATION: $75K - $80K
